A Thankful Heart

Have I told you lately how much I love my life? I really really do. I can get frustrated with work and other things, and I'm not one to hold back while complaining about it, but I really am grateful for everything and every one in my life. I have the world's greatest parents, the most caring and genuine grandparents, a loving extended family, accepting in-laws, the most loyal and supportive husband on the planet, a job that has frustrations but I'm lucky to have, and numerous other blessings that I take for granted much too frequently. So many times I, like many others, get so bogged down in the things that go wrong that I forget all of the wonderful things that have gone right. I came home today to two sweet doggies wagging their tail and a sweet husband waiting to give me a hug and a kiss...Now that's something special. Today the light bulb went off. It's time to start smiling a little more and worrying a little less; it's time to appreciate my life - the good and the bad; it's time to be happy, and if there is something that makes me unhappy then stop complaining about it and fix it. Life is too short to waste away the days. I am great at being alive, but starting today, I am going to get real good at LIVING!

Speaking of blessings...look at these three cuties! Haha

Pictures Like I Promised

Easter Family Photo
(Eddy had already changed out of his clothes. It was hard enough to get him to agree to take a picture, so I figured I would choose my battles wisely and let him wear his comfy clothes for the pic! haha) Ozzy and Beau weren't cooperating very well either. Typical MEN!

And here are some older pictures that I haven't shared with you guys.

I wish I had some exciting news, but not much has been going on in our lives other than work. I am trying to convince Eddy that we need to go camping sometime soon. I'm sure that would provide some quality blogging material! Love y'all!!

Happy, Healthy, and Dedicated Blogger...yeah right

I realize if I keep the blogging pace I've been doing, then I will be averaging about 2-3 posts a year. oops! I really do want to keep a modern day journal, and I know this is the best way to do it, but it's hard to find the time in the day. Especially now that both of our computers were stolen (long sad story). It must be something in the spring weather though, because everytime about this year I feel convicted to maintain a consistent blog. So, once again I am giving it a shot. I have been trying to make positive changes in my life (think daily cleaning schedule, eating healthy, working out again, and NO MORE DIET DR.PEPPER!!!) so I figure now is a good time to get back on the blogging train. I realize that my lack of dedication in the past makes it pretty hard to believe that I will actually keep this up, but I'm going to try real hard. I'll add some pictures soon of Easter and other stuff, but for today I will leave you with an oldie but a goodie of my sweet little family!!

An Early New Year's Resolution

Yes, I know it has been forever since I have posted, but I have decided that my early New Year's resolution is to maintain a better blog for our friends and family. Apparently, more people read it than I thought, and some of them are just a tad bit upset with me. Ooopsie Daisy!

Now that football season is over in our house, and my travel schedule for work is starting to slow down a little bit, Eddy and I have had a lot more time to spend together. It has been a lot of fun, although this morning he said to me, jokingly of course, "I have to hang out with you today? I was with you all night last night!"

Since my last post work, football, and weddings have pretty much consumed our life. It's been a lot of fun though. It is a good feeling to make your own money and to start a foundation for the future. I've kind of made saving money a competition with myself (must be the bball player in me), and I have actually had some fun with it. We even met with a financial planner. Gosh I'm getting old!

We got some pictures back from our wedding. A lot of people have been asking me about them. The professional ones are not digital, but here are some that friends and family took.

The horseshoe cross was made by my uncle. It was the BEST wedding present! The hat hanging on the corner was my Paw's. He passed away when I was in the thrid grade, but while he was alive, he had an incredible impact on my life. He was truly one of the greatest men to walk this earth. It was nice to have a little piece of him with us that day. You can also see a heart in the background. That is a replica of the heart Eddy drew in the sand to propose to me.

I love it!! haha

My uncle's handy work once again!

Again, my uncle the welder came to the rescue with the cake topper! I have the best family!

What Texas wedding is complete without Mason Jars?!

I fell in love with this fireplace!

Again...my Uncle! haha I'm surprised he is still talking to me after all the work I had him do!

I love rocking chairs!

Our western photo booth from the rehearsal dinner...

Mama, I got me one!!

Our ring bearer pillow...Eddy's mom made it.

Our memory table

I am obsessed with our wedding. It was so much fun and relaxed. It truly felt like a celebration which is exactly what we wanted.

Ok, now that we have taken a trip down memory lane, it is time to get back to reality. I have some busy weeks ahead of me with christmas shopping, more weddings, and traveling to see family and friends...oh yeah and work! Boo!!!

Happy December y'all!!

Honeymoons and Headdresses

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! I thought there was no better way to celebrate the three day weekend than a new blog post! Things have been crazy at the Parker house lately. We made it back from the honeymoon safe and sound, and we had an absolutely amazing time! We saw sights that were truly majestic, and we anjoyed an escape from the Texas summer heat! Here are the promised pictures.

Hidden lake we found on our first day...sooooo beautiful!

These are from our first mini hike of the trip

Pictures from the top of Mt. Bachelor...the views were breathtaking!

Eddy is always making four-legged friends! We went on a sled dog ride...iditarod style!

Deschutes Brewery tour

I may have looked like an idiot, but dang it my face didn't get sunburnt! This was right before Eddy and I went on an 8 mile hike.

We played some golf at Widgi Creek. This is the course that our condo was on. I didn't do half bad...for me :)

Tumalo Falls! A woman went off of this on a Kayak a couple years ago. Can you imagine?!

King of the WORLD!!

Now, it's back to reality. Eddy has started football again on the "reservation" as they like to call it here. The PNG Indians are 1-1 so far, and Eddy is busier than ever.

My travel season has started at work so I have a pretty full schedule as well. Eddy and I looked at the calendar today and I don't have a weekday open til December 5th! haha It is going to be so hard leaving for weeks at a time, but it looks like I will make it back for every football game! (Coach's wife of the year right?!)

Our house is finally starting to look like a house instead of a storage room so we would love to have visitors! If you are a Texas High School football fan, then you must come experience a game at PNG. It's crazy. Just make sure to bring your headdress!!

Love ya'll!

If at first you don't succeed...

TRY TRY AGAIN!! My first blogging attempt was shamefuly short-lived. Hopefully my *cough cough* TWO followers won't be too heartbroken and can some how find a way to forgive me!
Eddy and I have had an exciting couple of months, and I can't think of a better way to catch you up in our lives than through lots of pictures! Sooo here it goes...enjoy!!

We took some time out to have a good time with some great people when Jason Aldean came to town!

Let me just say, it takes a very secure person to wear a snuggie out in public. You know me, always fashion forward!

Then it was back to work for Lacy...

while Eddy took Brad and Tyler to the prom.

We finally decided to get engagement pictures... only a year after we were engaged!

Gina and Sao graduated (I bawled like a baby).

Then, we had some more wedding showers.

I had my bachelorette party in Austin. Please excuse my "rudolph the red nosed reindeer" look...we spent the day at the river.

Pretty soon it was wedding time, and what rehearsal dinner is complete without a mechanical bull?!

Of course, after the rehearsal dinner comes the wedding. Brielle had the difficult task of making my hair look presentable, and she did an amazing job.

And if you ever need makeup done in or around Austin you have to use Elizabeth with TwentyCoats! She is the sweetest girl ever and did a great job.

Finally, after hours of beautifying myself, having a couple panick attacks about the stairs I was going to have to walk down, and sharing a few good laughs with the girls in the dressing room...WE GOT HITCHED!!

After all the formalities, we got the party started! We cut the cake/smeared it all over Eddy's face.

We huddled up.

And we sang "Sweet Caroline" at the top of our lungs!

Now Eddy and I are unpacking and repacking and getting ready for our delayed honeymoon to Bend, Oregon. Beau, on the other hand, is enjoying his new bedspread and taking it easy!! :)

And there you have it. Our last months in a nutshell. We will be on vacation for a week, so I will have plenty of good blog material next time!! Love ya'll and God bless!!
